Amazing that they did BOTH "Love Is All Around" and "Wild Thing".

Reg Presley lived a very comfortable life on the royalties from Love Is All Around.

Contemplating picking up "Cellophane / Mixed Bag" 2-fer CD and still in search of an excellent sounding stereo mix of "Love Is All Around".

    Anyone?

Picked up Repertoire Hip Hip Hooray CD for 5.00.Booklet 23 tracker. Needledrop, but good to have. The Troggs songs sound less dated than a load of other bands from the time period 1968. Mind you this album's sounding more like 1966, than the White Album and Electric Ladyland counterparts.Fairy dust sprinkled, not consumed.:)

Did The Troggs ever do ( or attempt to do) a Village Green type album ?

Athens was a great studio album. The original version released on Rhino back in the early 90s didn't include the bonus tracks which were later added to the reissue, so I highly recommend buying the original version (for the artwork) and the reissue (for the bonus material).

Just found an original Fontana mono of the first record ... wow, that thing rocks!

So many great bands in that '65-'67 period, it's incredible. To me, it's the greatest three year stretch in rock / pop music.

Very underrated group, I personally find them to be more enjoyable than groups like The Animals, Move etc who always seem to get rated higher.

Yes. Animals, they're great, but The Move are, for me, seriously overrated. Wimpy bubblegum psych.
