That thread about the Dutch group George Baker Selection remembered me about one of the great Belgian groups. The Wallace Collection had a big hit in 1969 with 'Daydream'. It hit the number 1 spot in 20 countries. Their album Laughing Cavalier was recorded in Abbey Road by Geoff Emerick. It was considered by George Martin, as being the best to emanate during the year 1969! The six-man band had a cello player and a violinist between them, and had roughly the same approach as ELO later. 'Daydream' contained a fade-out similar to the one of 'Hey Jude' by The Beatles. It never was a hit in England, but I don't know about the US. I think that, if used in the right movie or commercial it could be a hit all over. Have you ever heard about them?
