"You Never Give Me Your Money" has no future in this game.

    Three remain, one must go.

Discussion question: Where do you rank ABBEY ROAD in the Beatles canon? Does your answer change if you include the American albums?

Easy. Come Together, which arguably should have been gone a few rounds ago.

Answer to question: I rank Abbey Road right at (or near) the top of all Beatles albums.

I love the song, but love the other two songs more.

DQ - One of my favorites. UK - only behind Revolver. US - my favorite.

I see Harrison coming in both first and second place.

"Something". Three great songs, the other two just sound "fresher" after thousands of listens.

I think every real Beatles album from Rubber Soul onward has had its moment in the sun as my "favorite" of theirs for a time, "Abbey Road" included. Assigning numerical rankings to them is a futile exercise for me.

    Sun to go.

I would put Abbey Road in the top 5, maybe 6. Different times in my life, different albums take precedence.

I'd rank Abbey Road as The Beatles' best effort.

Come Together. As far as rank that sometimes varies, it's in the running with Rubber Soul and Revolver as my favorite.

I rate them all as Beatles songs. Some songs seem to be mainly one person. With that in mind, Come Together is dominated by Lennon but still has strong bass and guitar parts. I really can't rate any of these as poor. And I would not throw out much on this album. Maybe just Maxwell, but Sun King annoys me from time to time. And I was a Fleetwood Mac fan. Give me Albatross any time.

I tend to prefer their material through 66 but Abbey Road has the best material they did post-Revolver, and hangs together as an album better than any of the 63-66 ones other than US Rubber Soul and Yesterday and Today (my favorites, with Y&T the very best).

Abbey Road ranks 3rd behind The White Album and Revolver for me.

I would rank it probably # 4 or # 5. Best post Revolver album.

George's two songs are the best on the album.

Abbey Road is my least favourite Beatles album. Only Harrison and Starr deliver from a songwriting point of view and though it is beautifully recorded it essentially is a collection of half baked ideas performed by a band who no longer want to be together. It's still good but I never understand how it's anyone's favourite given the strength of their other albums. It is probably the best sounding but it is a little clinical for me compared to the mop tops era.

DQ: I'd rank ABBEY ROAD quite highly, but I've been noticing a trend lately to reduce it as "not being all that". Bizarre.

The thing for me is, I've always felt that the togetherness came through one last time, after the dissention that was in the LET IT BE sessions.

I would rank it near the top. Great effort especially by George. Two of his best all time songs.

    George rules on ABBEY ROAD

I used to consider ABBEY ROAD my 3rd favorite Beatles album behind SGT PEPPER and REVOLVER. Now I also put RUBBER SOUL ahead of it. As for the US albums I would put it ahead of US REVOLVER, though the US RUBBER SOUL would still stay ahead and the US MEET THE BEATLES would also rank pretty close to ABBEY ROAD as well.
