DQ: Where would you rank Sailin Shoes in Little Feat’s discography?

 

Willin' & Texas Rose Cafe again.

One of their best albums.

 

Trouble and Apolitical Blues.

DQ: Right at the top. Probably one of my top 50 all time by anyone.

 

Voted for 'Texas Rose Cafe' and 'Teenage Nervous Breakdown'. Sailin' Shoes is an amazing album, I would probably put it after Dixie Chicken (my all-time favorite of theirs).

Texas Rose Trouble

It's my favorite Little Feat album.......followed by Dixie Chicken, and the 1st album (Columbus too).

As George had less input into the group, I like the albums less........though good songs on all of them.

 

Sorry but I don't think I can vote anymore off. Too tough of a choice!

All of the tracks are solid keepers. Yes Dixie Chicken is their best album but Sailin Shoes comes a close second.

 

Hmm, little love for Last Record Album or Feats Don't Fail Me Now, above. I would put both those above Sailin Shoes with my favorite being LRA. Long Distance Love, All That You Dream, Mercenary Territory and Day or Night are the pinnacle of the band's output and songwriting skills.

Here I voted off Texas and Teenage. The band was just a lot better when integrating the funkier and jazzier side and dispensing with the folk and blues routine that had been done more authentically elsewhere.

I love all the Little Feat albums up to and including Time Loves A Hero. The albums are probably not perfect but I would not change a note on any of them. I would love more outtakes and live stuff from that period. Interesting thread but I chose not to eliminate anything (that band will not be making any more records).
I think Sailin Shoes is one of their stronger albums songs wise.
