Pretty sad when the number one movie takes in less than what Paul McCartney probably has in his wallet! there's only 2 movies I'd bother with here, #3 and #8 1. Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, $7 million. 2. Jeepers Creepers 2, $6.7 million. 3. Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, $5.5 million. 4. Freaky Friday, $5.1 million. 5. S.W.A.T., $4.6 million. 6. The Order, $4.3 million. 7. Open Range, $4 million. 8. Seabiscuit, $3.7 million. 9. Freddy vs. Jason, $3.2 million. 10. Uptown Girls, $2.4 million.
The dregs of early autumn. I guess I am the only one not going to the movies. The early fall is a terrible time for new movies. There are a few good ones opening in the next 6 - 8 weeks, if you live in a major city. I would recommend either 'Whale Rider' or 'Winged Migration' to anything on the top 10 list. 'Whale Rider' is probably the best film I have seen this year after 'Finding Nemo'. <g>
This time of year and right after New Years is the dead zone for movies. Plus this has been an exceptionally bad year for movies. Pretty bad when Finding Nemo is the best film so far. Glad I have a HT where I can enjoy better films than what's at the local cineplex.
