Thanks Luke. Oh well, it's not like we don't have enough versions of the concert already to feast on. But you'd think with all the variants issued so far, there would be some interest in releasing the raw Live At Leeds.
The Amazon.fr listing clearly states three LPs, although the track listing is from the two-CD Deluxe Edition. Ordered anyway, arriving Nov 25. Canceled the UK order I placed last night... P.S. - my US login and preferences worked at Amazon.fr, whereas I had to create a new account to buy from Amazon.co.uk. https://www.amazon.fr/Live-Leeds-3L...=1477374060&sr=1-1&keywords=who+live+at+leeds
Is there a logic in this I can't see? UK is 14.5 euro, France is 30 euro, both before your VAT removal and both will be identical versions.
The £12.99 seemed almost too good to be true, plus on closer inspection, the UK listing details stated 1 disc and a 14 song track listing. Meanwhile, the Amazon.fr listing explicitly says 3 discs. (if my link above takes you to a $47 US listing, then go to the Amazon.fr home page instead, and search from there).
This might be a bummer! If Amazon.fr is indeed correct then no way will the UK price be £12.99. I expect the orders will be cancelled. My original price of £25.24 seems more likely. Regardless you can't put a price on either a 14 or 34 track "Live at Leeds".
Amazon is always messing with product descriptions. See the new reissues of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here and The Wall. Amazon UK showed pictures of the new releases, but listed them as the 2011 reissues. People ended up getting the new Bernie Grundman releases. I'm pretty confident the UK and FR listings are the same, but could be proven wrong. I wouldn't cancel the UK order just yet. They've honoured similar prices in the past.
But before Luke points it out........it won't be the complete gig unless they've done a new remix of it since 2014.
I've noticed that the Amazon France track listings for this release are different when comparing the desktop website page to the mobile app page. The mobile app page actually lists the following tracks, broken down into Discs 1, 2 and 3 (I assume this means LP 1, 2 and 3) in the following order - Disque : 1 Heaven and hell I can't explain Fortune teller Tattoo Young man blues Substitute Happy jack I'm a boy A quick one, while he's away Disque : 2 Overture It's a boy 1921 Amazing journey Sparks Eyesight to the blind (the hawker) Christmas The acid queen Pinball wizard Do you think it's alright? Fiddle about Tommy can you hear me? There's a doctor Go to the mirror! Smash the mirror Miracle cure Sally simpson I'm free Disque : 3 Tommy's holiday camp We're not gonna take it Summertime blues Shakin' all over My generation Magic bus
If that's what we do actually get come release day I'll be one happy camper, the full set list in original running order is exactly what I want on vinyl.
Absolutely. This would be awesome to see. I can't imagine someone at Amazon France making this one up; I'm hoping it's legit. Checking the tracklist lengths, it appears that LP 1 would be ~35 minutes in duration, followed by LP 2 at ~44 minutes, and LP 3 at ~41 minutes. This makes sense.
If they release the entire concert of vinyl ala Amazon France's listing it'll be a godsend. I listened to the Live At Leeds Complete CD bootleg to death when I was a teen before they officially released it.
It appears to be the same track listing as the 1995 remaster CD. Plus the price is too good to miss if they honour it.
It doesn't look like the whole Tommy is on this and can't see how that would fit in over 6 sides with the other additional tracks. 14 tracks listed on Amazon UK but of course that could be wrong. That looks short for six sides but could be a blank side on disc 3.
As above, Amazon France lists all of the songs. I haven't looked to see exactly how long each side would be, but it looks like on average it would be about 22 minutes a side. Longish, but not impossible. And it wouldn't surprise me if some of the applause on the digital versions was cut.
