According to sources on The Who's official message board (and the June issue of Uncut), there's a new box set in the works. These sources seem pretty excited about it, but are also completely quiet about what it contains, if it's studio or live, what era it is from, or even what format it's going to be on.

    So, let's speculate away?

Unless someone knows something and is willing to spill a bean or two.

This sounds awesome and all....but the year is almost half over and it usually takes them at least 4 times as long before something is released. In the meantime, I will hold me breath and cross me fingers. :waiting:

Part of me is hoping for a Who's Next box with SF '71, but those 'in the know' have been fielding questions about comparisons to TYOMR&B, unless I misunderstood.

The box set will include previously unreleased High Numbers tracks.

Maybe next year we'll get an Endless Wire 10 year Anniversary Platinum Series edition. Complete with 5 CDs of outtakes to push the overall concept further.

Most of or all the 11 studio albums. And Odds and Sods, have been remastered. Remixed, tons of bonus tracks already. A few of the albums have more bonus tracks than regular tracks.

If they have more high numbers, lost 68 album, stuff from 71 like Mary, unreleased Endless Wire songs.. I'd. Pay $100-$225 for a 10-12 disc set. Or $50-80 for a new 30 years type of album, with a dozen unreleased tracks.

Does anybody think they will include a couple of new songs like they did on best of 64-2004 with RGLB and Old red wine . Maybe the lost demo with Doug Sandom

This is also mentioned on the Imwan/Ice message board. They are speculating that it will be a complete albums collection.

Was hoping for a live box from "the classic era". But Who am I kidding?

There are a few too many who collections. I love the who but really. !!!!

I would rather just get an odds and sods two or who's zoo three. Or a new live boxed set.

Just do not want to buy who are you (single edit) one more time

He was trying to make one reply per who collection but this site wouldn't let him make 86 duplicate posts

This is the only thing that would interest me at this point. I've bought, re-bought, and re-re-bought the Who's albums so many effing times that I'm done unless it's archival live stuff or studio gems we've never heard before.

Well for starters we need more info on content before we rejoice, grouse or tune out. Townshend. Has been involved with more stuff these past 6-8 months than I can ever recall. Five new tunes spread over four albums. The world tour, classic Quad, reissue of his so catalogue, now this.

I'm hoping we get more info on content soon. If it's. Nothing super special why keep it under wraps

But the thing is, DrBeatle, to get the few "never before released archival items", we have to buy all of the re re re releases again that will come with them.

You mean like the Hull show packaged in with the SuperDeluxe LaL? I'm glad I held off on that because then they released Hull as a standalone. I hope they don't try some trick like that again!

The new classical music rendition of Quadrophenia as orchestrated by Rachel Fuller. Not to be confused with the other two or three recent Quad tours albums and box sets.
