Look for it on iTunes in theaters and on iTunes this Friday March 13. So happy that this is finally coming out. Congratulations to the producers for finishing their dream!

Heh. When I saw the thread title I thought you were talking about the old Dean Martin Matt Helm movie at first.
I was going to suggest moving it to the visual arts section.

    Oh..THAT Wrecking Crew. :p

I don't know if this is a different cut than the one I've seen, but it's a great documentary if you're really into this music. It's not as 'watchable' for anyone else as, say, 20 Feet From Stardom, but I am glad this is finally seeing the light of day.

Great news. The Hartman book was nicely done, but really looking forward to seeing the footage.

I imagine the hold up was music rights.

If it's the same book, there must be only one, I thought it was ok but could have had so much more research, stories to tell, etc. Can't wait for the film.

They talk about that very issue in the Tribune article, too.

Just read the article. Damn shame that there are no Chicago showings scheduled.

Good idea for a School of Rock show - a tribute to The Wrecking Crew.

Curious on the bonus features for dvd.

Was that Dick Clark pre-stroke and Cher with her own hair?

I hope we can finally get a comprehensive guide to the songs that the Wrecking Crew played on. The Hartman book listed some of them, but not all.

Isn't drummer Hal Blaine working on a memoir, as well?

Thank god. I saw this years ago at the Melbourne International Film Festival and it was fantastic. Can't wait to finally own it.

I wonder if they finally got the rights to all the songs or if they had to delete several.

He said in Maron's podcast a while ago that he'd only had a few more songs to pay for.

So I guess he got them all or close enough to be satisfied

Just saw it on demand. Very enjoyable. It's a nice tribute to Tommy Tedesco from his son.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross ran an interview with Hal Blaine today, although it might have been an older interview and therefore a re-run. Nonetheless, it's worth catching or else check for the podcast.
