I just noticed that Crutchfield is taking pre-orders for the Denon DVD-2900 universal player in silver. According to crutchfield.com, it will be in stock on November 5th (price: $1000). Here's a picture:

Will this be the latest edition to the Keith system? Looks pretty sharp! :righton:

You do realise that the silver 2900 sounds brighter, while the black 2900 sounds darker?

I LOVE my 2900, altough mine is black.....

The black ones can be had for $850 +/-

doesn't do HDCD, though. Need the new 5900 for that!

    I'd wait for the 5900.

The real cost of the 5900 is $1200 btw....so negotiate from there.

Keith, I agree with John. The 5900 will be a true upgrade from your 3800. Lots of cool video features, too.

It's getting some rave reviews from new owners over at AVS....and this is in regards mainly to its audio performance.

Many of the people who already own a 2900 say the 5900 is a big improvement even visually at this point.

The DVI output was just approved by Denon so none of these early models have DVI enabled...wait till you see this player connected to a TV via DVI!

By this Christmas it should be easy to get a DVI enabled 5900 at most Denon outlets.

Now I'm bummed out. Looks like my 2900 may have to be eBay'd after Christmas!
