Nice little easter egg reference to that in the new film.

Very enjoyable film and a seamless combination of the two different comic book stories (Planet Hulk and Ragnarok). There are lots of different comic book movies and I liked the tone they went for as they had the cast to pull it off. Not that I would want every film to be like this but it suits this.

At least Thor has a reason to be arrogant. Sub Mariner, who IIRC ponderously referred to himself in the 3rd Person (hints at a deeply rooted narcissism), is truly the Aquaman of the Marvel Universe and would deserve intense ridicule. "Sardines - attack!"

Saw it last night, and I'd rank it as one of the best marvel movies ever. can't think of a single moment where it dragged. Jeff Goldblum should get an oscar. really missed Jaime Alexander's Lady Sif though.

The question was actually: How did you decide on your psychedelic color palette? so ... spoiler alert: clickbait headline is totally misleading.

I guess that the Marvel films have been a bit washed out tonally, for whatever reason. But Ragnorok tries hard to make up the balance. And I liked it. Except for one scene in Norway that had some weird lighting of the characters against the background ... dodgy CGI work maybe.

It definitely was. Some of those shots were in trailers with an entirely different background.

What a fun film! We all loved it. Top 5 Marvel film for sure, possibly top 3. In somewhat random order top 5: 1st Avengers, 1st Guardians, Ragnarok, Civil War, and Winter Soldier.

Maybe they'll be an Avengers 5 wherein all problems are solved so the Avengers try to adjust to civilian life. Thor could be a Construction Manager, Hulk could teach Creative Writing or perhaps Middle English Drama. Hulk want tenure.

  14. They eliminated that just as they did most of the "secret identity" aspect for Iron Man. They did make fun of this though because, at one point, Thor masquerades as Dr. Donald Blake when Jane is trying to get him into a secure facility to get his hammer. Jane says it's a guy she dated with a touch of humor.

I will be watching it tomorrow. Was supposed to be today but preparing for refi.

I dunno, I kind of agree with maccafan — sure the movie was amusing but Thor suddenly being so quippy, right from the very first scene, and peppering his speech with Americanisms like “he’s a friend from work” seemed too far out of character to me. I suppose you could argue he’s picked up that way of speaking from Tony Stark et al but the effect was that Hemsworth was playing Chris Hemsworth in a Thor costume, and not Thor.

My son tells me that that 'friend from work' joke was written by a Make-A-Wish child.

There were several scenes where I not only laughed out loud, but couldn't stop laughing well into the next scene.
