geez, if I went by the big mouths of movies stars today I wouldn't watch most of the active ones...they disgust me but I separate their "out of the movies insanity"...I still watch their movies, TV shows, whatever...most of my friends feel differently.

 

I like him better as a movie actor...

 

His stand up manly man routine was okay for a while. But it never evolved. It was the same joke... tools?... grunt.

And I enjoyed his Home Improvement show for a while. But that grew stale too. And I stopped watching before it's run ended.

I find his movies striving to be of Adam Sandler quality. Just not for me.

I've not watched his new show. Nothing to do with his political choices. Even though I do find myself on the other side of the aisle. I wouldn't ever deny myself a quality movie/show/song because of a different view. It's just by then he'd lost me as a fan.

Wish him well, though.

 

I can see how people like the first couple of seasons and then get tired of the show by say, Season 6.

 

I need to rewatch that again.

Tim Allen is one of the few Hollywood types that I could stand to have a beer with these days.
I doubt that we would be talking politics...that's a rabbit hole best not entered while drinking.

I was listening to an interview with David Mamet, and he was talking about the current state of the movie industry. He said that Galaxy Quest is one of his favorite movies of all time. He likes it because it's a fun movie with good dialog and good action scenes that don't involve people shooting at each other, which he finds to be boring. I think he has a point.

 

Tim is famous for his Santa movies & others, but the one I liked was 'Joe Somebody". He was a really sympathetic character in that.
