Plan on getting Vanilla Sky blu ray.
Any difference between the USA & European version, apart from the cover design ?

An Adventure In Space And Time (2013)

  6. Midnight in Paris—This is most impressive, as there is no gimmicky time travel special effects, relying primarily on character research, appropriate expressions, costumes, and props

Back to the Future—Pure inspirational genius, from the Freudian relationships right down to the DeLorean.

The Terminator—This begs the question whether or not robots believe that they can change the future without the knowledge that their assassins had already been in the past and obviously failed, thereby rendering the effort moot and——Eh! Enough deep thought, this action is raw and gripping.

    Best Short:
Dave Chapelle's "The Time Haters"—In about five minutes, Chapelle and company make pointed commentary about time travel that took Stephen King about 1,000 pages in 11/23/63.

Didn't know about the Asimov novel, but PKD's story "Adjustment Team" (the basis of the film) was published in 1954.

Another vote for Looper. I know it has plot holes, but it struck a chord with me, and the little kid is so good.

Midnight in Paris is one I would have overlooked, but I love it. And yes, Back to the Future is damn near perfect.

This thread is going to make me look some of these other movies up!

There are 2 movies from my youth I've been looking for all my life.
    This is one of them.
I finally found it a year or so ago. (Not knowing the title was a problem.)
"A Journey To The Beginning Of Time" ---- and there were two versions !
The original was a Czech movie "Cesta Du Praveku" released in 1955
The American version stole the film, re-shot it with added footage, and dubbed it. (This is the one I saw) released in 1960. (It was sometimes serialized) It was somewhere around 1962 when I saw it.
Journey to the Beginning of Time - Wikipedia »
If you can find the subtitiled Cesta Du Praveku --- it's almost the better movie !
(Off Topic - sorry) The other movie I'm still looking for was a (partially ?) animated movie with small space alien, title was "something-something-something- Little Man From Alpha-Centauri" . prob released 1957 - 1965 ???help!??

I don't know if this qualifies (since it only involves a loop in time) but I will mention the TV movie 12:01. It is basically a serious version of the movie Groundhog Day, about a character who, due to a scientific accident, repeats the same day over and over again while retaining all knowledge he has acquired (and nothing, not even death, stops him from looping...).

Well, 2016-2017 saw three different time-travel TV series: Timeless, Time After Time, and Making History, and all three did very badly in the ratings. All were cancelled a week or so ago, but NBC opted to do a limited run of 10 more episodes of Timeless next year.

I think there's always room for a good story, and that includes movies about time-travel. But between the Back to the Future movies, Groundhog Day, and the Terminator movies (and TV series), it's hard to come up with a new idea that hasn't already been done.

While time travel isn't necessarily the main point of the movie, the recent Happy Death Day I think would apply here. Like Edge of Tomorrow, but in murder mystery form.
