Good News - This new Album and a Wildflowers-Reissue with Bonus-Tracks. Maybe a very good year for Petty-Fans.

    Thanks for the Heads-up!

Looking forward to this! Sounds like it will be a far cry from "the blues bag" of Mojo. What a god awful album!! I traded my vinyl copy away..keep the Bluray. I kind of regret that now as I've tried to obtain all of Tom's albums on vinyl (only missing Echo)..but what the hell..I disliked it so much.

    Reprieve Records?

Anyway, looking forward to this as I loved "Mojo" and "Mudcrutch" was serious fun!

I love Tom Petty, and look forward to this. But there's no going back to the sound of those first records without Stan Lynch. Steve Ferrone, the consummate professional that he is, cannot bring to the band what Lynch had.

I hope he does something along lines of the hi-rez release he did for Mojo.

"Wildflowers" sounded so good on CD when it first came out. We were really impressed by that disc at that time.

Tom Petty seems to be an artist that gets better with age.
Mojo was amazing, especially the Blu-ray Disc.
It may be my favorite album of his.
Really looking forward to this new release.

Ferrone is a fantastic player, his groove is unstoppable and serviceable, but I have yet to hear him ROCK!

I totally agree. The sound changed so much after Stan left. I will buy it anyway.

I can hardly wait. The best band in the world IMO. I hope they continue to embrace blu-ray.

Hope it's good. Been burned by pre-album hype so many times that i'm totally numb to it.

This f***** better rock!! After "Highway Companion" any effort to turn up the amps a little would be great without Jeff Lynne behind the board. I really liked the single "I Should've Known Better" from "Mojo" but the rest of the album didn't hold my attention.

I know. I saw an interview with Campbell describing how he exclusively used a 59 Les Paul to record that album (which cost more than his house) and this was the best he could do???

Yeah, both those albums had some good material, but a fair amount that was ho-hum.

I enjoyed Mojo quite a bit. I only have the Blu-Ray and it sounds really good. I thought there were some great songs on that. That being said, this new one sounds like it could be a great record and I look forward to a reissue of Wildflowers. Here's hoping that includes vinyl.
