Tom Waits Reissuing Anti Records Albums (2017), incl. Orphans (2018) Plus Elektra Back Catalogue *

I also received my replacement copy of Closing Time, but I haven’t had time to listen yet. Fingers crossed.

Is there a good list anywhere of all the Tom Waits vinyl reissues so far? I’m slowly getting into him, so I don’t want to miss anything.

I just got Small Change. I’ve never received a new LP with as much surface noise and non-fill. It’s awful!

 

Sounds like you got the original faulty pressings, you can send it back to the label for a repress

 

I thought that only affected the reissue of Closing Time. Was Small Change part of that whole thing too?

 

Apologies, I got confused (I was thinking of Closing Time). I have the Chris Bellman cut of Small Change (as well as Closing Time & Nighthawks), definitely worth seeking out as they sounds great and are quality pressings.

 

Any news of Tom reissuing his time on Island Records?

It varies.

 

Ok. I've always had the original CD, and I wouldn't want it altered in any noticeable way. I'd like to get this on vinyl someday, but I probably just try to get an original pressing.

How long do I have to Waits?

 

I volunteered at a thrift store a few years ago and in came two giant crates of records. Volunteers got 50 percent off. I scored an original Frank’s Wild Years pressing for 50 cents. So many great scores that day but that was one I was looking for high and low for years in the wild.

 

I finally found one a few months ago on the wall of my local store for $40. Instant buy.

Still hoping for more Island reissues and Bone Machine.

 

Has he reissued any of his Island records?

 

Only Swordfish Trombones is currently in print.

 

Music on Vinyl reissued "Rain Dogs" some years ago, but I'm afraid it's also OOP. It may be found at some retailers if you dig, however.

 

Got my replacement copy of Closing Time. They sent a whole new LP with cover.

From the deadwax it is a new cut. Through side 1 and no noise.
