Tommy Keene RIP

Brilliant album.

 

Such sad news. I have two CD's of his in my collection by Tommy, will pull them out this w/e for a tribute. He wrote some killer power-pop songs.

 

This is terrible news. Tommy was a great musician and a wonderful man. He was always friendly and fun to talk to when I saw him.

I’m stunned.

RIP, dear Tommy.

Tommy Keene, Power-Pop Singer-Songwriter, Dies at 59

 

RIP. I only know Tommy Keene from Westerberg's 1996 band. That band played some great rocking shows. I will have to check out his solo work.

 

Such a kick in the teeth. Loved him since a friend recommended Based on Happy Times

 

I’m stunned. Based on Happy Times was one of the first CDs I bought. He should have been huge. RIP, Tommy.

 

There's not a dud in his discography. Remarkably consistent over 30+ years.

 

All of us at the Haverford Music Festival are in shock. RIP Tommy Keene, a true gentleman.Here he is singing with Matthew.

Oh, that's an awful shame. I'm glad it was peaceful.

I'm totally unfamiliar with his music, except for seeing him open for The Jam in '82 at University of Md. Very sad though, 59 is too young.

 

What a great player of the Fender Tele. I was always impressed by his ability to wrench lots of great tones from that guitar.

 

If you like Power Pop, definitely get his compilation CD.

 

The entire EP was on the Real Underground CD on Alias.

 

Absolutely stunned. Just saw him with Matthew Sweet this past summer.

 

I never got to see him live. That must have been great.
