I saw the film 'Tommy's Honour' last night. It was a wonderful film and director Jason Connery did a an outstanding job!! I should caution you though...while golf is central to the film and is indeed built upon it's history, it is NOT a golf movie. I hope that makes sense. It's a very 'human' film. Don't go into the theater thinking that it will be like watching The Masters or the U.S. Open or any other golf tournament. Nor is it a documentary even though it deals with historical golf figures in the form of the Tom Morris, Junior and Senior. Like myself, one need not know the game in order to enjoy the movie. It's currently in limited release. But it is worth seeking out. Nice to see a film that doesn't use CGI as a crutch, isn't reliant on explosions or loudness and has some fantastic acting.
My wife saw and enjoyed this last night. She knows nothing about golf, but appreciated it as a story about talent, ambition and struggling against a class system.
