Interesting how the Verve logo is being used on the vinyl mockups.

Verve is Universal. They did this with the Gaga album too. That album was released by Interscope and Columbia. It’s just a money thing.

I got to see her a year or so after at a jazz club in Oakland. I was seated against the stage literally 5 feet away from her and that great band. Will never forget it.

Of all of her albums, the "Live In Paris" is my absolute least favorite.

I do believe the "Silver Lining..." album was in the can for awhile prior to release. I don't remember where I read that. Perhaps someone else can confirm ...

This had me until I read Gershwin. I still might partake but for whatever reason, Gershwin always leave me cold.

Nice. That was a good era for her. This one looks like a total bore.

Krall tore it up with Ray Charles on one of his last duet albums on You Don't Know Me.

    Looking forward to this one.

Yes, The Silver Lining recordings were from 2010. They were recorded at that time with the intention of being released once Tony was no longer with us. I read this online in a Denver newspaper back in 2010 or 2011.

Still 2010 is a big difference from early 2000 as someone had indicated for the Krall/Bennett duet recordings. Perhaps it's because they recorded individual songs around that time?

I still wish his duet album with k.d. lang would get a vinyl release...

I wonder if Diana Krall will ever do a duet album with husband Elvis Costello.

Whilst undoubtedly this will be a great sounding record with two incredible artists......am I the only one bored to death with the songs selected.

Surely they could have dug a bit deeper into the jazz songbook and come up with a few slightly "deep cuts". This reeks supermarket/Christmas stocking selection

I would love that. Of course she would be crucified for that around these parts...

I’d prefer they sing anything other than these tired old standards, but that’s what is expected of Tony (and they are the songs he loves)...

Plus any time Diana tries something different she is instantly disparaged....

I wouldn’t be surprised if a full-album DVD will be coming:

Anyone else feel that Tony’s voice sounds a bit thin on Fascinating Rhythm? That being said, the thinness doesn’t really bother me because his sense of timing and phrasing is still impeccable. He sounds like he’s having a ball.

But based on that thinness, I feel like this album hasn’t been in the can for long. There were rumors that he’d recorded a Gershwing album with a his current piano accompaniest. I guess that rumor didn’t quite pan out?

Yeah, a touch thin. But unless the vid is a misleading fraud like the Gaga one, after seeing and hearing him recently, this sounds like a new recording.

I have an appreciation for Diana Krall and a respect for Tony Bennett but this comes off as milk toast for me.

@paulmock excited about this release? It feels odd not having your input in a TB thread.

I’ll pass. Diana Krall hasn’t done anything worthwhile in years and Tony Bennett I don’t really care for.
