Tony Bennett and Diana Krall duet album due in September 2018

Big fan of Diana and I have a lot of Tony's stuff. I ordered this one. Looking forward to it.

Speaking of that. Are there any "special" releases of this album? Meaning extra tracks if purchased at a certain retailer? Hopefully, that nonsense has gone the way of the 8 track.

 

I’m pretty sure Target’s CD has 2 bonus tracks: a solo by each of them.

Just listened to the album on Spotify! Just wonderful! Tony still sounds great considering his age or even not considering his age. I’ll be picking up both the LP and deluxe edition today! So glad he’s still recording!!!

It’s only 847 am here and I’ve played it four times. My wife will pick up my cd on her was home. Love it.

 

Just got a free digital download for purchasing the signed LP. Have put it on CD and will listen to it driving to/from work!!!!!

 

Bill Charlap has been recording with his own trios since the '90s, but I don't recall anything around 2000 with Tony Bennett, maybe one song a little more recently (I'll have to check).

I just found out the other day that Charlap is on this album. He's probably my favorite current jazz pianist and I'm a big Gershwin fan, so it's on my radar.

I am about 1/2 way thru the CD as there wasn't much traffic enroute to work this morning. So far I really like the album. There is no doubt that his voice has been "sweetened" again (NOT a complaint!) but they are a great pair!!!! The addition of Charlap's trio adds an additional amount of class to the project.

BTW, this album was recorded in August 2017.

 

Seems to be doing well. Not a copy to be found in the area.

Having now listened to the entire CD, I wish they had done a better take on "Fascinating Rhythm". Tony sounds weak and as if his mouth is dry. How could no one catch this?????

 

No, sold out at all targets in the area. What Target did was give us free two day shipping. Our Walmart doesn’t carry CDs anymore, nor does Best Buy. Barnes and noble had a cd and a vinyl.

 

I've just finished listening to this album and I was blown away by it! I'm a fan of both Tony and Diana but together they sound even more incredible. I'm about to listen to it for a second time

 

I haven't seen the other releases this week, but I wonder what the odds are of a Bennett/ Krall album debuting at #1.

 

They'd have to beat Carrie Underwood .............





So i Picked this up tonight at Target , both of them sounds great Vocally for sure & the playing on the Album is really nice , something about the sound i don't care for yet , it was VERY mid-rangey in my car , that said i haven't heard it at home yet ................ But it's a really nice album
