Thanks for that. Looks like this DVD edition is just another rip-off.

 

Wow. Great article. A necessary read for anyone interested.

I bought the DVD as soon as it came out, but realized it was just a crap transfer as soon as the video began playing. Unfortunately, there are few alternatives available to the Zappa fan.

I'm still wondering how the smeg this got past MGM.

 

Horrid release, a total travesty! Poor quality source, sections missing etc.
Whatever Tony Palmer said, he does not own the masters of this film, they belong to MGM.
He also doesn't own the right to it, they also belong to MGM.

I really hope MGM release a proper version of this someday soon.
