Congrats! I am very much looking forward to hearing your feedback on the Origine.

Just picked up the turntable today and will let it mellow, like my cigarette in my mouth and give an update in a bit.

    DryWhiteToast Where's my Ativan

Three days I have been listening to my new Gold Note Valore Plus 425 and I love it. I upgraded from my trustworthy Denon DP300-F but kept the Shure M97Xe Cartridge to have some continuity. It is a beautiful table that really shines in so many ways. I am not up to date on the "audiophile" terminology but do have some concept of how to explain it...the instruments are really less congested in comparison and much brighter...brighter not in a treble hi-pitch annoying way but in a "this is what it's supposed to sound like" way. When I play my sonically great albums, the difference is obvious but tempered. When I play my more challenged albums, the sound is extremely better.
Anyway, jumping from a $450 table to a $1700 table really made a big difference for me and although I love my Denon, I have to say it was the second best upgrade after my speakers.

Great stuff. What finish did you go for?

Those Denons really are work horses. I upgraded 6 weeks or so ago, but couldn't bring myself to sell it until today. Had a M97xe on mine as well.
Put it on CL, and it was claimed and sold in 6 hours.

It's two threads in one, not sure why, the OP went the Origine path, and then DryWhiteToast came along and went with the Valore.

Kept away from the acrylic even though the dampening effect is supposed to be better with it. Went for the black.

I can't sell it. It was my first purchase coming back into vinyl after years away from it. Just means too much to me.
Want to keep it until one of my kids maybe gets into the way of life(was going to write "hobby" but that just seams not accurate enough).
    Again, great table.

    LOL.
We are all awaiting the OP's Origine review. I do believe it is a better table than the one I bought.
I was really eyeing it but the price was a bit more than I wanted to spend.
I know, I know...I screwed up this thread.
    Sorry OP.

Nice. Saw it came with quite a wide variety of finishes, including some leather ones. Clear acrylic (if that's what you're referring to) never quite works for me, visually. Photo would be cool if possible!

Looks like a really nice table, speed control with trim adjustment, nice tonearm, pretty solid.

So, how did that Oracle Origine work out for you?

    Cyclone-
Absolutely love it. I'd put it up against a table twice the price. Tremendous depth and performance.

Great to bear. And, that 'table is definitely a looker, too. :)

How would you characterize the Origine's sound compared to the other 'tables you checked out?

And what soet of catridge and phono stage are you using?

Has anyone heard the Opera Consonance Wax Engine? I've read great reviews, but not from familiar sources.
Also, not to hijack the thread, but I'm searching for anyone who has an opinion of the relative merits of the Oracle Paris as compared to the Alexandria, specifically the MK III.
