I guess this is to make Batman appeal to kids and teenagers? Because I guess just being Batman isn't enough to do that now?

I don't get it the appeal, but okay, whatever sells.

Now I want a movie based on the Ninja Baseball Batman arcade game.

A Victorian-era Batman story (the first Elseworlds, Gotham by Gaslight) was recently adapted in animated form:
This seems to be in that vein. What if [insert DC superhero here] lived in [insert historical time frame here]?

 

Alright, on a trailer dive, this one's a bit more out of left field:

A trailer from Warner Japan indicates the Dark Knight may have actually time traveled for this one.

 

Very interesting. Other writers have done this with the Zorro character, so why not Batman.
