    Can someone tell me who does the terrific opening theme
    song for the HBO series `TRUE BLOOD' - sort of a cross
    between Chris Isaak and Junior Brown.....

    It's a solid opener for the show -- it sets the tone but doesn't give away too much.

    Does anyone know if it was commissioned when the show started, or was it recorded/released beforehand?

    This version is slightly different than the one on the True Blood opening... people familiar with the opening will notice the part where he sings "When you came in the air went out..." is slowed down here. Very cool. Thanks for sharing.
