I was walking past my local used CD store tonight and I decided to go in. I found an early CD pressing of Elton John's Tumbleweed Connection. Here are the details:

    Tumbleweed Connection

    Catalog Number: MCAD-37199 DIDX-377

    No UPC Code

CD says Made in Japan for MCA Records Inc. but on the back cover it says, "Manufactured by MCA Records, Inc. 70 Universal City PLaza, Universal City, California - USA" No mention of Japan...hmmm.

Butchered artwork. The cover isn't even on the front! It's just the title, a graphic of Elton, and a tracklisting.

I had a listen at the store...lots of hiss, sounds pretty good. I bought it (4 bucks!) because I heard good things about the MCA pressings, plus the only other TC I own is the 95 remaster with the channels supposedly switched.

What I want know is...is this one of the hailed MCA pressings of Tumbleweed Connection? I know people on the board have praised the MCA pressings of Elton's stuff. How does Tumbleweed compare to the others?
