We are watching the Netflix streams of the Twin Peaks seasons gearing up for 2016 Showtime version. The thing that really stands out is the picture quality for a TV series. The original prints must have been well preserved. Any info on how the series was filmed, process, etc?

The Blu Rays look pretty great, too.

Indeed. I thought the "Gold Box" DVDs looked good but the Blu-rays. . . wow.

  5. It's because David Lynch insists on being involved in the process when his stuff goes to DVD/BLU/whatever. He does the color timing etc. And usually gets involved with the sound ad well. He puts in the time to ensure his work looks and sounds as good as possible.

I recently watched the Blue Velvet BluRay and was stunned by how good it looked.
