Yeah, I don't think Showtime would have announced anything unless there was a commitment to it definitely happening. But still, I hate to hear of any snags/delays.
The town sign says it's 51,201 or so. According to the internet, it was supposed to be 5,100 or something but NBC demanded a change. I always felt this was completely unrealistic, as it's a podunk town with only one doctor, etc.
Yeah. I'm also choosing to ignore Lynch's comments under the hope it will all work out fine in the end. This is the side of the industry it may not always be best to follow too closely.
I think it's probably a negotiation ploy by Lynch, to get people worried it's not going to happen so that Showtime will give him what he wants.
Amazon UK lists October 8th, 2015 as the release date for Mark Frost's 'The Secret Lives of Twin Peaks' novel: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secret-Live...12&sr=1-2&keywords=secret+lives+of+twin+peaks
Author Brad Dukes claims Twin Peaks on Showtime no longer happening. "Dear Showtime... I hope you're happy. P.S. you really really suck." - Kimmy Robertson (Lucy)
Tune into BBC Radio 4 tomorrow for a Twin Peaks documentary: http://twinpeaksfans.com/2015/03/28/twin-peaks-documentary-coming-to-bbc-radio/
Doh, it looks like it's confirmed that David Lynch walked out over a dispute over money: http://morningafter.gawker.com/david-lynch-just-walked-away-from-showtime-and-twin-pea-1695864130/ gabriellebluestone

I'm hoping this is all posturing. I would be much less likely to watch the show if Lynch wasn't involved.
Yeah, which of us would (at least enthusiastically) tune in to a Twin Peaks not done by Lynch? Also, how many of his loyal subjects would be part of the show? I truly hope this is, as someone else said: posturing.
Maybe...Maybe not....Lynch is specifically saying he won't direct....he's not specifically saying he won't participate in the writing and outlining of the series. Lynch did not direct every episode of the original series. Certainly those he did direct had great flair and presence and I would look forward to his unique vision if he were to direct. If he were to specifically say that he would not be involved at all, I would be more concerned..... Best option - everyone settles down and reaches an agreement and fans can have what they have longed for. Next best option - Lynch and Frost create the sequel with an alternate director. No Option...Lynch and Frost not involved.
Apparently he and Frost finished writing the scripts, so even without him in the director's chair it could still have his touch on it. I'm hoping this is just him negotiating in public. Any reason why he couldn't just take it to HBO? Any reason why they went specifically to Showtime?
