I'm not looking forward to this album nearly as much as I was before hearing this song.

 

Did the song land in the water?

I've got tickets for U2 in New Orleans in 8 days, wondering if they will add it to the set list?

 

I love U2 but that sounds like it was thrown together in about 5 minutes.

Someone needs to tell them that being the biggest band in the world isn't a job worth applying for anymore

I was inspired to write a song called I'm The Best Thing About You.

I like this but would have preferred The Blackout as the first single.

 

The original lyrics Bono penned were "I'm The Best Thing About U2", but the rest of the band vetoed that draft...

 

Solid tune. Some clunky lyrics but overall I like the song. Bring on the album!!!

Just listened...doesn't even sound like U2. I thought a Coldplay song started when I wasn't looking.

 

Ooof, after feeling optimistic about the new album when I heard The Blackout, this song brings my expectations crashing down. I'm not feeling this at all. Oh and by the way, does anyone else agree with me that there should be a complete moratorium on any songs talking about how much children have to teach us?

 

There is a sci-fi remix floating around that sounds less awkward.

 

Hope they add some more new tunes to this last leg of the Joshua Tree tour. Looks like they've dropped "Little Things" from the encore. Hopefully they'll replace it with "Blackout" or even "Best Thing."

 

It made sense when the term was used back in the day for a new track by A Tribe Called Quest or Jay Z. When it's now used for a new song by Jason Aldean, Michael Buble, or U2 it just sounds a bit silly. I mean, 'cuz they be droppin' cuts like crazy, yo.

Just my opinion, of course.

I'm sure when the new vinyls drop, it'll be mad dope.

I prefer the album version. Like the guitar and drums.

 

Much better than the album version. U2 really do overthink things too much when it comes to their production/mixing approaches. I was hoping they would learn a bit from 'Songs of Innocence' and choose more of the simplified and stripped down mixes for the actual release.

 

The chorus is really good.

 

The irony is that your (superbly) sarcastic comment is, sadly, believable.
