They really need to do this. Not sure why they keep ignoring it.

At this point, I would be happy with a single CD remaster.

It won't fit all the songs though. Needs to be a double CD.

I was talking about the current CD being remastered. Of course, a double CD with everything would be better. :)

Well, I had a dream last night that I was with U2 as they were setting up for a rehearsal with B.B.'s horn section. Then this morning, this thread. So HELLYA! Bring it!!!

Rattle & Hum should finally be dusted off shelf and included in "Deluxe Edition" release, and film offered in Remastered Blu-Ray/DVD packages!

I’d be all over this, if it were to happen. It’s my favourite album of theirs and the film is wonderful, documenting the band at the peak of their powers, imo.

I think it’s a fantastic album that has a beautiful flow to it, definitely one of their best. That’s probably why they don’t like it.

CD 1 - Full Remaster of Original CD
    CD 2 - Outtakes, B-Sides
CD 3-4 Full MSG Sept 28, 1987 Show (Available in MP3 on WV, but not losslessly)

    BD / DVD 1 - Full Nov 8, 1987 Denver Show
    BD / DVD 2 - Full Dec 20, 1987 Tempe Show

Both nights that they filmed, the 2nd night was the better performance.

I wouldn't include anything from Lovetown Tour (1989/1990)...(They need a separate Lovetown Release)

The full Justin Herman Plaza show is available on DVD (CNN footage) and the NYE Point Depot shows are all available, complete and in lossless if you know where to look.

BTW, my footage of the Los Angeles R&H Premiere was used in their documentary, "From The Sky Down"...

Though not the full show (missing a few songs to make it fit on a single CD), that show is part of the 30th anniversary edition of The Joshua Tree that was released last year. My substitute would be a show from the Lovetown Tour. You might prefer a separate Lovetown release, but I doubt that would happen anytime soon as there never was such an album released officially before. So I rather have it included now. :)

I always liked that interview they did on Radio One around the release with Anne Nightingale and Roger Scott - "U2 on Radio 1." Heard last year that BBC had wiped it, that sort of item would be a nice extra on a dvd.

Always liked this album. Not so fond of the movie but my vinyl album is still much loved. A reissue would be much appreciated.

My idea for such a Rattle And Hum deluxe set, more or less big and comprehensive enough to encompass the album and tour but compact enough to be the size of the 2006 era smaller box sets for The Unforgettable Fire and The Joshua Tree.

CD 1 - Original album (remastered)

    CD 2 - B-Sides and Studio Recordings

    Desire (Hollywood remix)
    God Pt2 (Hard Metal remix)
    Hallelujah Here She Comes
    Room At The Heartbreak Hotel
    Unchained Melody
    Everlasting Love
    Dancing Barefoot (full version)
If I Had A Rocket Launcher (unreleased Bruce Cockburn cover)
She's A Mystery To Me (1988 demo version)
    Love Rescue Me (1988 live)
    Jesus Christ
    Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Desire (Rattle and Hum "demo" version)
    Heartland (demo version)

CD3 - New Year's Eve Live From The Point Depot part 1

I think you covered everything there, would love to see this, but I think we be luckly to see vinyl only, U2 seemed to disowned Rattle and Hum, pity loved this when it came out,

It's not sacred but come on, it's kind of funny. He plays the most unbluesy thing ever. It's like James Brown yelling to Maceo Parker, "Maceo, make it funky" and you get Maceo playing tangos or something.

"Rattle and Hum" is where U2 decided they were IMPORTANT and started becoming tiresome. Too much on top of what had already become too much ("Joshua Tree").

Oh, please no! Not more! I loved U2 then aswell but the original album was far more than enough.

To be fair, there was some good B-sides and live stuff that is better than a lot of the album, but aside from most of Achtung Baby, this is where my interest in U2 ends. They should still do a deluxe edition though. There's nothing wrong with giving the fans what they want.

There is some awesome footage out there - I'm not sure they would do an immersion set, but even a double CD with a DVD of the movie including extra footage would be great!

Was New Years Eve filmed at all?! If so, that should be put out. A hell of a show

Very simply because it represents a controversial time in their history. Critics still talk about now the way they did then. U2 would rather sweep the memories under the rug and just be glad that "When Love Comes to Town" and "Angel of Harlem" still get radio attention.
