My Oh My, they certainly did. Shame Jim got I'll when they were finally trying to make it in the States.
Great single but not Glam, but they did very well to carry on making great singles after the Glam ship had sailed.
But Barry, you're not wearing blue! Thinking of this time got me recalling the music mags of this time. Oddly, I don't recall Music Star at all. I remember Popswap and It's Here And Now though. I suspect all three were 'for girls', but that didn't stop me getting them.
It was the start of the end for him. There's quite a few of these mags on eBay now. They ain't cheap..
I remember seeing one interview with Brian talking about drinking, when it had already taken its toll; very sad and a big waste of talent.
I still play it! Corny as hell, but a great collection of songs. 'Rocket' and their version of 'In The Mood' are tremendous.
This is one of my all time favourite glam songs, another song I tend to put on repeat, and doesn't outstay its' welcome. The lyrics are so bad, they are positively rock and roll brilliance!
By no means all Glam, obviously, but while looking through old memorabilia I've found some 70s tour programs.
I guess that 'Another Bill Oddie Christmas' is reference to one of THE best Christmas songs of all time; 'Father Christmas Do Not Touch Me'. It never makes the comps...
Hang on to the cd with both hands tightly. Nearly eighty-eight quid on Amazon for those wanting a copy.
One of my most endearing memories of being a father of young children is recalling the time my wife & I sat in the front of the car, driving through the night in crappy weather, while in the back my daughter (6) and son (10) were bellowing along in harmony... "He's a most immoral San-ta, he's a most immoral San-ta..." etc etc. Still makes us smile.
