The ones with UK plates pack a sweet punch (RAYS's ).

I own 3 different pressings of Coda. An early US, a 200 gram Classic, and the 2015 Davis cut. The 200 gram sounds best, but I sincerely doubt you want to throw down $150 for a sealed one. If you want all analog, look for a clean US, they are still cheap, and I found a sealed cut-out for $10. If you don't mind some digital in your vinyl chain, the recent reissue is also cheap. Both sound decent, and should do the trick.

The '15 really disappointed me, sounded very one dimensional and much weaker than the RAY's cut. I have not heard the CR.

Ok Slick, you got me wondering? Tell me about the Ray's cut. I have not heard one.

It really shows off Bonzo's work. It is a comp, so some tracks are sonically better than others, but well worth the hunt.
I have not heard the UK RAY's to see how it holds up to the RAY's plates sent to the US.

My vintage Coda has weird deadwax.

I just checked the deadwax on my US Coda, no evidence of RAY. I guess I'll be searching for another LZ pressing.

Yes a reissue of 1977. Not necessarily bad but a bit wobbly! The side one cut by George Pyros is a bit disappointing. The two Mastercraft side is better in terms of dynamics. My fifth Italian pressing is definitely better! I have the impression that the reissue of Led Zeppelin in the late 70s is very uneven.

While we are chewing the fat about Coda, I'll throw a bone to the Classic. It's a good sounding piece of wax, and if you like bass, It's got plenty of it. The only problem is, they are out of print, and so damn expensive. If you get lucky and find one in the bins for cheap, nab that sucker.

Oh there he is. "Ray's" on side one of my Coda. Did he sign both sides? I looked real hard and didn't see it on side 2.

No wonder the deadwax is all weird, it's British.

Is RAY super small in the deadwax?

I'm busy right now listening to the Ray's cut Permanent Waves that Willy has recommended. Small world. He only signed side one on that one too, or I'm missing out.

Yep, on a second look, I found RAYS. My eyes are getting bad. We may have the same pressing. Is yours pressed at AR?

Yes, whatever that is, it's an AR. Man the only thing better than finding the good stuff in the wild is finding it in your own collection, and I respect SW's opinion. I'll have to give mine a good listen. It's in great shape.

Damn I was ready for another hunt though.
