Me thinks so sarcasm was involved.

Seems to be a right mess no retail releases barly available on Amazon except from 3rd parties.
Plus all the other rather negative comments regarding HFPA.

Which is a shame because they (Universal) have also released one or two very good Blu ray releases Primus's for instance shows they can release a Good Audio Blu ray product.

When You see XTCs Nonsuch though you knwo what is missing from the format.

If I recall correctly the Genesis SACDs were released in 2007. So that means the SACDs were remastered in 2007. So what digital remastering is from 2008? Is this more incorrect information released by UMe about HFPA's?

You would think they could have at least put a nice 24/96 flat transfer option on there as well, as on the Steven Wilson Tull/Crimson releases, I'm sure there's enough space, but oh no they have to offer up those travesties, (unless the 2008s are something I've missed from the original tapes.)

I think they mean the 2007 remixes. By the way this disc is now back on Amazon UK with the same availability date as before (20th Jan).

I bought "Serge Gainsbourg - Histoire De Melody Nelson" from amazon.fr couple of weeks back. The booklet for this is all in french (the backstory etc). Is the UK or US pressing in english? Just curious.

Also, I havent seen any comments about "Serge Gainsbourg - Aux Armes Et Caetera". Is it worth getting? I dont have any other versions of that right now.

Serge Gainsbourg - Aux Armes Et Cætera is reggae. Stereo only, recorded in Kingston, Jamaica with top notch musicians including Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespeare and Ansel Collins. Sound is pretty good.

Booklet in French like Histoire De Melody Nelson. I think both discs are aimed at the French market?

Have you played Histoire? I find the music slightly bizarre but somehow the surround mix makes it good listening.

Got both HFPA of Serge Gainsbourg. Both excellents but nothing in common.

Melody Nelson is a pop rock musical in high class 5.1 remix.
sound is clear, 5.1 mix is awesome, songs are beautifuls.

Aux armes etc.. is a full reggae dub album only in stereo
Sound is deep in bass with nice details on percussions, funny songs on great riddims

If someone got both beck sea change and melody nelson, really want to know which 5.1 remix is the best between paper tiger and cargo culte/melody since the music is quite the same.

Apart from the mch dimension, is there a reason to prefer the UMe version of Melody Nelson versus the recent-ish Light in The Attic RBCD reissue?

I have both discs and both booklets are in French. Bought both from Amazon UK so I'm guessing it's a UK pressing. If you are in to reggae the Armes disc is worth getting. Even though it's stereo only it sounds really good, one of the better sounding HFPA offerings imho.

So is the 5.1 mix at 24bit/96khz? I already own the special edition on CD, that included a DVD-V with the 5.1 mix, but it's only Dolby Digital. I'm tempted to get the blu-ray as well.

It probably has already been mentioned, but I assume "Breakfast In America" does not include a 5.1 mix, right?

I have the BIA blu-ray and it does not include a 5.1 mix, mores the pity. Great disc otherwise though.
