It's possible. I never did download those two Trey shows we saw at the Fox a while ago. The more I've "re-got into" Phish, the less attention I've paid to Trey solo. I definitely latched onto Trey solo when Phish was on hiatus/broken-up. And there was a brief period when Trey shows were better than Phish shows I thought, when the band was really running out of gas around in the early 00s or mid-00s. I forget the timeline.
My commute music from today: Lou Reed - Transformer XTC - The Compact XTC: The Singles 1978 - 1985 Now I'm playing the debut of my favorite new band, The Lemon Twigs. Power-pop lives on!
I like Dead and Co --- there I said it. Mayer can flat out friggin play. Going to see the tour opener
Honky Tonk doesn't get any better. Excellent expanded live record. Highly recommended to rock n rollers and Dead fans And lets not forget Ralph Mooney on steel! He was a giant
Marty Stuart's new cowboy record. Recorded in California with Heartbreaker Mike Campbell. Don't miss out on this! Good vibe and cool tunes!
of course, I knew you and crispy would be down. I hear the audience in this recording and wonder if they knew how great he was. His voice, the band, Mooney for real, but really this man's presence. It's not an almost, you can hear the 'giantness' of this man. He, Johnny and Merle. That's the top peak. Willie and George are just below.
I haven't heard this particular one but need to chase it down. I'd expand your top rung to include Willie, though.
We have had a couple episodes of Elvis Costello's generally excellent Spectacles show Lingering on the DVR for several years and finally watched the second to last one left, featuring Kris Kristofferson, Roseanne Cash, Norah Jones and John Mellencamp. Really good in general although Mellencamp still rubs me the wrong way a bit. Staying in the singer-songwriter mode, I'm now listening to John Prine's Sweet Revenge.
Louis Sclavis, Fred Frith & Jean-Pierre Drouet I Dream of You Jumping recorded live @ Victoriaville 5/21/2000 Extraordinary abstract improvisations - 48:14 then a 7:37 encore Sclavis on clarinets Frith on guitar Drouet on percussion, voices & objects Never heard of the French dude but he's something else
For those interested in the Old 97's (and if you aren't you should be, in my opinion*): Old 97s new album, Graveyard Whistling (Feb 24 2017) *Do you like country? Do you like rock? Then friend, this may be a band for you!
