    Dickey was a fine singer, he had soul in in his voice

    More Dickey. Atlanta's burning down[1978]

    When I got into the Allman brothers band, it was all about Gregg and Duane. Mostly Duane, the guitar hero.
    That has shifted over the years and I greatly appreciate what Dickey's done. Both with the band and solo. Just look at the songs and instrumentals that he brought to the band. And his singing is classic Allman brothers/southern style

    I like his guitar playing better than Duane's although they're both masters.

    Might be my favorite album of all time... Pure genius with a ton of soul.

    If you haven't seen the movie DIG! Look that up, it's very entertaining about a dysfunctional band, fighting another band :fly:

    if you like the old honk, not 'outlaw' country necessarily but the steel, the harmonies, the songs about drinkin, then you need to check this one. they took their time with the full blown record but it's worth the wait.

    Yeah, I don't get that sentiment. How anyone can not like Bob Marley is beyond me, but I guess it's possible. Sorry @Rne! I just wish the expanded Live! that came out on LP last year was available on CD as I love these shows and want more from them. However, I don't have a turntable.

    I love Marley, but my wife does not like him (or reggae, for the most part, although she likes Jimmy Cliff a bit). I still have trouble wrapping my head around that. I am waiting for a CD version of that expanded Live! album, too. I like vinyl, but generally prefer CDs for long live shows and have a lot more storage space for CDs than vinyl...

    I actually requested work off months ago so that I could go to that Brooklyn Bowl show last night, but circumstances forced me not to attend.

    Oh well. :shrug::doh:

    I'm glad you had fun though, Erik! :thumbsup:

    I don't dislike Marley, but it says nothing to me. Anyway, I love "Judge Not".
