I need to listen to this more, though there are few cuts with those cheesy drum synth lines. But ol' Joe cuts loose so well on this, who cares? Solid lp for the most part. So is the ep by the always unflappable Lobos. They slay Shoot Out the Lights.
My childhood's friends parents never listened to anything remotely close to Black Sabbath (that we know of). If they had it would have made the front page of the small town paper in what would have amounted to a major small town scandal.

I don't actually think that dude was listening to this tape, to be honest. It didn't seem like his style. It did however lead to me growing my hair long (and black) and there rumoured sightings of Satan (!) in my home town the following year which was actually reported in the local newsrag. But I swear that I had absolutely nothing to do with that.
And now disc three of that Queen live at the BBC box set. The main portion, the stuff from '73, is really so effin' heavy. The rest isn't too bad either.
lol Concerning Black Sabbath, they actually played a date on Easter Sunday and an hour away... and I attended. Some people in the car were nonsensically giggling all the way to the show, curiously; only later did I find out why. The incident never made my hometown front page, I was but a child. But Lord I never lived it down and still get ribbed about it to this day.
OK, maybe I was a little bit to blame. But I swear it was mostly the other guy. You know, the one with the pitchfork. Really strange this about that whole debacle was that Norway isn't religious in any sense of the word. Must have been a slow news day. Aha, I guess I understand now. And some things just stick to you forever, right? That is why I got the hell outta that place as fast as I could Now I'm gonna have to listen to some Dickey Betts because of that craycray thread going on. What a bunch of coconuts we are, the lot of us on this forum. Some are worse than others, granted.
I picked up this CD used a couple years ago: I didn't know this existed, and I'd probably jump at anything by a respected artist with "Fillmore" on the cover. Full disclosure, not listening to this right now, listening to Art above.
Damn the Torpedoes (for Hawaii, I guess?), Zevon's Desperadoes Under the Eaves, and now Hunky Dory, all in context of discussion of importance of music vs lyrics vs synchronicity of both. There is room in this world for a lot of various approaches (which doesn't prevent me from saying that Petty might be the best post-Beatles writer of bridges).
My left ear is back to normal (I hope it lasts). Commuting while listening to The Cult's Love. Really good album.
Classic debut album. Steven Tyler says he sounds like Kermit, the Frog in this one, but I love it (the album, I mean... and Kermit too, of course).
i really like that one. I really like that band. It's different and may take a bit to get it but i think the good ones always do.
