I’m With Her is Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O’Donovan. An impromptu show in 2014 at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, CO, sparked the formation of I’m With Her and sent the trio touring the world together the next year. Along the way, I’m With Her formed a special, family-like chemistry, garnering acclaim for their unique blend of instrumental interplay combined with their indelible harmonies, as the New York Times describes, “... that could be sweetly ethereal, or as tightly in tandem as country sibling teams like the Everly Brothers, or as hearty as mountain gospel.” Their debut album, See You Around, was recorded in Box, England, with Ethan Johns at Real World Studios
Devoted mainly to "Go Ahead John", which Teo Macero would put together using elements from five different takes included here.
Fairport Convention - Unhalfbricking What a phenomenal album. "A Sailor's Life" really starts cooking when they start to jam at the 6:30 mark.
801 Live sounds better now than 35 years ago. It should be amazing and @Rne posted the remastered import which sounds magnificent... with an extra track. Somber Reptiles is worth the price alone. One of the great live records of any generation. NP... withering blow by blow maelstrom from the west coast brought to you by the couple of the decade, John Doe and eXene Cervenka.
Glad you posted this, I'll definitely check it out ASAP. I was first introduced to her (Aoife) when she was working with Dave Douglas. Since you have a penchant for Jazz do check it out. A beautiful album that was inspired by the death of his mother. Dave Douglas Quintet: Be Still Dave Douglas: Trumpet Aoife O'Donovan: Guitar, vocals Jon Irabagon: Tenor saxophone Matt Mitchell: Piano Linda Oh: Bass Rudy Royston: Drums
Just one great song after another. Unfortunately, the hyper-80's sound makes it tough for me to listen to the album often. I would love for Don to do an unplugged version of the whole record.
Yeah, this was from the 1967 tour which was featured as the first Bootleg release. Not to be missed. Tony is a mother****er. (To borrow a phrase from Miles.)
John Cale: Fear Featuring, among others: Manzanera, Eno and Thompson. Digging on that volcanic Manzanera>Eno guitar:
