Mind going album by album from, i guess it would be ESP onwards and giving your opinions of each? For the ones related to the box i mean.
Saw the War on Drugs last night. Such a great show !! Definitely worth the scratch to go see them live if you like their music.
Earlier today streamed some random organ concerts into the headphones. Revisiting side 2 of Paul Butterfield East-West, then might stream some before off to bed. Yawn. I do really love this LP>
Hell yeah. Pro: one of the coolest things I ever bought. Con: every other box set on the shelf looks like something put together by kindergarteners now.
That would be one heck of a project at the time being, mind is scattered and just absorbing, spongelike and passive at the moment. We do not all have your bundles of youthful enthusiasm and ways of expressing it. I'm gonna be like Erik B from now on. Strictly monosyllabic Maybe next time 'round.
Agusti Fernandez: River Tiger Fire Disc 1 - the large ensemble (11 piece) 57 minute multi-section composition/improvisation. Wow. Not much piano from the leader but these horns & strings are outrageous. I’m only familiar with a couple of these guys so it’s apparent there are some amazing improvising musicians from all parts of the world.
“Well they say/ Time loves a hero/ But only time will tell If he’s real/ He’s a legend from heaven/ If he ain’t he was sent here from hell.” Little Feat
Black Sabbath - Iron Man A doomy masterpiece. What a riff! And that sound, aint nothing like it! What a great band! !!!
Fever Tree (s/t) 1968 SC 6284 - Sundazed CD 2011 upc: 090771628428 (sourced from the original stereo masters. originally rel. on UNI Records 73024) Dennis Keller - vocals Michael - guitar E.E. Wolfe, III - bass guitar David Angel - strings, horns Gene Page - strings, horns John Tuttle - percussion Rob Landes - piano, organ, harp, flute, bass recorder, clavinet, harpsichord, cello
Elvis Costello, The Delivery Man - perhaps his best late period album Jimi Hendrix Experience, Axis: Bold as Love Butthole Surfers, Rembrandt Pussyhorse Eric Clapton, Money and Cigarettes (meh) Boston Spaceships, Planets Are Blasted. I can't keep up with Robert Pollard's output, but every album I've heard that he's put out with these guys, Guided by Voices or under his own name has been worth hearing. No exception here.
