Great sounding show. One of the last with the Cardinals. I guess this is a "ultramatrix". There so many good SDB out there. I'm sure that Ryan let people plug in because he was a Deadhead

Nice... Any suggestions on sites where I could find these shows? I checked btree and there were a few posted.

Looks like some of his shows are on the archive. I always forget that Casal played with him.

Heard this for the first time yesterday. Aretha is amazing, but her band is on fire. I love that tight soul/r+b sound from that era.
I wish they had taken the tempos down about 10%. The show must have been a barn- burner at the time, but the speed makes it a little congested (kind of like late-era Janis Joplin).

I have that same thought about the tempos when I listen to it.

The two shows from summer '07 is full band but with acoustic guitars. But don't let that scare you.
Das Haus from '06 is fantastic. If you dig the mellow electric vibe. The band sat on bar stools for some reason

    *edit
The Daus Haus gig was a Jazzfest thing.
I saw them 4 days earlier in Stockholm. That was not mellow. It was a great rockin show

One of my friends and post-college roommates used to love playing that album. I totally forgot about it; need to check it out again.

That's my favorite album of all-time. The deluxe edition is all-killer, no-filler. The Detroit mix is a fascinating alternative. Marvin's dual lead vocals are mixed hard-right, hard-left, so it's like having dual Marvins singing to you. The live gig is fantastic and the single versions are very different/unique compared to the album versions.

Listening to the Travelling McCoury's. They have a Bluegrass festival where they play the music of the Grateful Dead.
I can see why they have their own band. This is not their father Del's idea of Bluegrass I guess? Very progessive and jammy.

Stays very close to the Dead, but this would be so much fun to hear live!
