    Hello esteemed forum,

According to Ultimate-Guitar.com (apologies if this was posted somewhere else):

    ---

AC/DC Recording Album With Axl Rose on Vocals, Release Expected in 2018

According to an unconfirmed report, the lads will hit the studio once the GN'R fold wraps up its touring obligations.

According to a new report from journalist Paul Cashmere of Noise11, AC/DC are gearing up to hit the studio with Axl Rose.

The report reads: "With Guns N' Roses dates running through until September, it is expected that the next AC/DC album with Axl Rose won't be ready until 2018.

"The chemistry between Axl Rose and Angus Young has inspired Angus to start planning another AC/DC record but Guns N' Roses touring commitments throughout 2017 will make it difficult to finalize the project. As all of the AC/DC shows were filmed it is possible fans may be treated to a live album with Rose from the 'Rock or Bust' tour prior to the new studio album.

"Despite the departure of Johnson and the retirement (at age 66) of bass player Cliff Williams after 40 years with the band, Angus has vowed that AC/DC will continue."

Well they seem pretty determind to prove that it is not Brian Johnson who decides the fate of the band.

Lots of AC-DC fans heads are going to explode if this happens. Not mine btw.

I'm a big AC/DC fan and I'd give it a chance, but I don't care for Axl, and I'm not fond of the fact that Malcolm, Cliff and Phil wouldn't be around, either. It would be more interesting to me for Angus to try something a bit different with Axl and a new band, but as I said, I'll still give it a chance.

To many out there, Angus IS AC/DC. Now that he will be the only original member left (unless Phil comes back) we will see how much AC/DC exists in Angus.

Why not? If it's good, fans will be thrilled. If it's bad, fans don't have to listen to it.

Maybe they can bring back George Young to play bass.

I'm not a big AC/DC fan, and I'm sure the album would sound interesting at least, but I feel like it would be almost disrespectful to Brian to record it and call it an AC/DC album. If it was an Angus Young and Axl Rose collaboration it would be fine, but last I heard Brian Johnson is still willing and able to sing in the studio. I totally respect their decision to finish the Rock or Bust tour with Axl in Brian's place, but I feel like bringing Axl into the studio would be effectively giving up on Brian.

If it means I can hear Angus play guitar, I'm all for it. I love his playing and style and music so much, I don't care if he's the only original member left. I just want to hear more.

As long as it's good - I'm in...

I went to hundreds of BIG HEADLINE gigs and festivals in 2016 - and AC/DC with Axl in Lisbon is arguably my fave of the year!

Can they just let the AC/DC thing ride off into the sunset already? It happened. It was great for those involved and those that loved the band. They got success TWICE with TWO different singers. That rarely happens. Hang it up. It's over.

It's simply NOT AC/DC anymore. Just one original member left? Stop.

I'll listen to the LP though and, if it's good, I may even buy it.

Angus + Axl & a bunch of musicians is NOT AC/DC in my book.
I might not have a problem with it, if they named themselves something else.

    What if they could get...

    Drum: Matt Sorum
    Bass: Duff McKagan
    Rhythm Guitar: Izzy Straddlin

That way we could all just go and see a AC/DC - GNR - Velvet Revolver concert all in one?!?

Save us a lot of $$$$

    I kid.
