My favourite Stones song is 2000 Man; used magically in the film 'Bottle Rocket'. Other songs, like that one, from this time period do not get the credit I think they deserve. 1968-72 is amazing but, earlier Stones is just as good.

    My Top 3 Underrated Songs:

    Sitting On A Fence (sterio)
    It's Not Easy (mono)
    What To Do (mono)

    Honourable Mention:

    Flight 505 - Great lyrics.

After owning the Hot Rocks compilations for decades (along with Aftermath, Buttons and Majesties), I've been spending the last two years enjoying the Mono box set, finally hearing all the 60s albums in their entirety. There are so many brilliant deep cuts, it's like discovering the band all over again! My ten underrated favorites from 1964-69:

    She Said Yeah
    I Am Waiting
    Think
    Sad Day
    Ride On, Baby
    Citadel
    2000 Man
    Child of The Moon
    Jigsaw Puzzle
    Monkey Man

Always enjoyed this B-side that gets overlooked. On par with side two of Tattoo You.

    If You Can't Rock Me

Well, the entire Between The Buttons LP is underrated, for a start. I would also single out She Smiled Sweetly. It's the rare song where Jagger admits to emotional weakness and how he is reliant on a woman's help. Kind of a role reversal from his usual persona.

    Other candidates:

    Think
    One More Try
    Factory Girl
I Got The Blues (love the organ part)
    Surprise Surprise
    High and Dry
    Sway...

    ... etc., etc...

I don't think many of these (generally wodnerful) songs are actually underrated. Except by maybe the Stones themselves. Wish they would play a couple smaller venues with a special setlist drawing from some of the songs on this thread.
