Keith and Elton From 2015 There was an elephant in the room - or rather “a monkey with arthritis” - at last night’s GQ Awards, as arch rivals Keith Richards and Elton John came face to face. The rock legends have endured a long running feud for nearly 20 years with Elton, 68, famously putting guitarist Keef, 71, in line with our fellow primemates. In 1997 Keith said Elt’s “writing is limited to songs for dead blondes” - a thinly veiled dig at the superstar’s song Candle In The Wind which he wrote about Marilyn Monroe and later sang at Princess Diana’s funeral. Ouch. Elton retaliated by slating Keith and calling him “pathetic”. He said: “I’m glad I’ve given up drugs and alcohol. It would be awful to be like Keith Richards. He’s pathetic. “It’s like a monkey with arthritis, trying to go on stage and look young. “I have great respect for the Stones but they would have been better if they had thrown Keith out 15 years ago.” Elt also said: “I just think he’s an a****** and I have for a long time.” At last night’s GQ all eyes were on the pair to see if they had patched up their feud. One party source tells us: “This all happened a long time ago but it hasn’t been forgotten. “They are both very outspoken so everyone was either expecting fireworks or for them to kiss and make up on the carpet.”
The pud in the middle seems to be sucking the life force and essential nutrients our of both of them.
Famous quotes from the album: Woman (at beginning of record) "Beatles? This year, the seventeen-year locusts are shedding their skins." Ringo (at the end of the record) "What am I doin'? I'm playing the biggest load of $h_t in the world and people are standing and cheering>"
Stravinsky and Ravel were good friends. Stravinsky tells the story of shopping with Ravel and they both bought composition notebooks. Stravinsky used his to write the sketches for The Rite of Spring, and he wondered what had happened to Ravel's....
I'm guessing this one is from 1994, and George looks very much like he does in the "1980" picture posted here.
