Cobain was obsessed with early Beatles around the time he cut "About A Girl". His then girlfriend Tracy said he played one of the early American Beatles albums over and over again.

Yes, he said that About A Girl was directly inspired by listening to the Meet The Beatles album. I am really looking forward to hearing him sing And I Love Her, and I hope that there are more covers like it in the 'vaults'.

Do you have any idea when this is out? It seems to have gone very quiet.

Hopefully sometime this year, best to check the site and even the facebook page. There might be a twitter page too for news/updates.

Of course there's www.cobaincase.com and Tom Grant's own FB & Twitter pages. I'm sure there will be a update as Tom will comment
likely watch the upcoming Montage Of Heck.

Gotta give this site props, you can link anything to the Beatles. It's like a punch in the face but the pain is lessening and now I want to join the cult. I've never even started a topic yet, waiting until I have something interesting to me, but also a little more than this vs. that. I've considered trying to stimulate a discussion about when Van Halen peaked. Now, though, I'm thinking, did Van Halen peak before or after John Lennon was tragically murdered?

Seems this conspiracy theory refuses to die. But heck, I guess everybody has to make a living.

I love Nirvana. Am very much looking forward to this doc. HBO puts out quality material, so I hope this doc lives up to that!

He was interviewed too late to make the final cut of the film, apparently. His interviews may turn up in a future expanded edit.

What kind of piss-poor planning is that on the part of the people who made this thing? They interviewed one of Nirvana's members "too late" to include him in the documentary? How does anyone let that happen?

    Not a big deal.
From what I've read on the forum, there are enough people who are Dave Grohld out anyway :D

Why assume it was the filmmakers' fault? Maybe they tried to get him in time, and he kept putting it off -- and then when he said "OK, I'm ready" it was too late. Mind you, I don't know what happened, and the article that described this was referring to getting the film cut for Sundance. For all I know, they may get some of Dave's stuff in there for the HBO premiere.
