There will be some sort of US engagement before the first of the year in order to qualify the film for Oscar nominations. Yes, Reilly and Coogan are actually getting some buzz...

So we can say it looks great based on the trailer, but not that it looks lame based on the trailer?

sure you can, but judging the movie negatively in total by the trailer only is an unfair assumption.

IMO, this may be the best casting ever...next to the casting of Spock in the Star Trek movies of late...LOL.

Actually, this is my all time favorite clip by them. They did laughing routines
like this before, but this is classic because Hardy's laughing toward the beginning,
is their act. But later, Stan turns and looks at the woman, and goes into hysterics.
Hardy then can't take it anymore, and starts laughing FOR REAL. Not acting...
    Stan truly cracked him up......

I think they were mega everywhere ! Jerry Lewis was friends with Stan and so was Dick Van Dyke. the stars of the tv show Perfect Strangers from the 1980's were massive fans of them too and paid tribute to them in lots of their episodes.

Oliver Hardy always stole all their comedy scenes imo. Of course Stan wrote the material.:)

Alabama sure looked dusty as California in THAT movie! Still I enjoyed The Kentuckian! Small part for Ollie.

In the trailer there is a brief shot which looks like a recreation of Hardy with Harry Langdon in "Zenobia," giving the impression that was the sore point. But I never read that Stan was upset about it, let alone still hurt over it 15 years later. (But I wasn't there.) They actually have him saying "you betrayed me." That threw me, but I need to see the movie and see how it's portrayed.

Best I know, it was just business: Laurel's contract was up in 1939, so Hardy made a movie without him, which happened to also feature Harry Langdon.

Looking forward to seeing the actual movie. I think the two leads are very good from what I can tell.

Never connected with Laurel and Hardy. Seemed too "old timey" to me as a kid. Chaplin, Keaton, no problem. I just didn't like Laurel and Hardy for some reason. I think I got bored of Hardy always bitching at Laurel.
