I really like REO Speedwagon’s Wheels Are Turnin’. I know it’s not considered one of their best albums but I prefer it to Hi Infidelity.

From that list only The Firm and Bryan Adams. Neither are albums I listen to very much though.

I had quite a few of these on vinyl back then. Now I only have Purple Rain, on vinyl and cd, and Like A Virgin, on vinyl.

John Fogerty Centerfield and Prince Purple Rain are my choices. Both superlative albums.

    Phil Collins... eesh.

I own 21 of these, but honestly have little desire to hear more than 3 or 4 of them. I worked p/t at a Record Bar at the time and heard most of them past the saturation point. Only ones like Big Bam Boom and Breakout, which were considered uncool by my hipster coworkers, were not played to death.

I just looked again at that "Top 200" list. What a great variety of styles of music was represented! So great to see Bruce Cockburn, Pat Metheney, U2, Linda Ronstadt in her Nelson Riddle period, all on the same chart. Something for everyone.

The only one on this list I would listen to voluntarily would be Sade "Diamond Life". The rest don't really exist in my musical world.

Wheels Are Turnin' is an album I dearly love. The hits are great and the deeper cuts - Through The Window, Gotta Feel More etc - just really hit the spot.

Easily one their best albums and a candidate for my favourite album from one of my favourite years, 1984.

    Nice one!

    Sound good?

Most recent one I picked up was the Rock Candy reissue from a few years ago, mainly for the liner notes. Very nicely packaged!

Yeah, it’s OK. It was a MLPS edition from (about) 2009.

I think that might be the first time that’s happened in one of these polls...

I have 17 of them on CD. Perhaps half of them on vinyl.

I think 1985 being my first year in high school has something to do with me ending up with all these copies. I was a Hot 100 hound back then.
