Last one of these for a bit, you'll be glad to know!

I always think 1986 was when I began to lose interest in chart music, but I like and own loads of these.

As ever, pick as many as you want.

I had the same instinct but added "True Blue" and "Raising Hell"...should have stuck with just the Bangles

    9 out of 25 ain't bad. :D

I'm not going to mention them all, but after all these years I still play Control, the Police compilation and Back In The High Life a lot. Recently bought the first EU CD of Word Up for little, and although nothing beats the title track, it's still a nice album. Invisible Touch (and their S/T album) are my favourite Genesis albums. :shh:

Great time, and 1986 was even better!

So my usual "in the business" rememberances regarding this list:
When the Springsteen live set came out I was the manager of a music store in New Jersey. So you can imagine the hysteria surrounding this thing at Springsteen central. When we got the shipment in it was a virtual wall of boxes. We didn't even put it out-we just cracked open boxes and started handing them to people-two and three at a time. This was like the holy grail for Springsteen fanatics. What a fun time.
Otherwise, the other great release on this list that I didn't really come to appreciate until much later was "Rapture" by Anita Baker. Such a great, tasteful collection of smooth soul, this album hung around for a long time. I still think it stands the test of time.
And for a debut album Bruce Hornsby got out of the gate well, and who knew back then what a long strange trip his career would take.

Bangles. It's not a great album, but I always had a soft spot for them. The rest are much more 'meh' than 'yeah'. Even God would curse Lionel Richie.

I own 11 of these, but have a hard time counting any as "favorites" except Graceland and maybe the Hornsby.

I only voted for two, Springsteen and Lauper, and the Bruce box was a big disappointment for me. I'd given up on the Talking Heads by this time and like everyone else, bought Graceland, though I soon burned out on it.

As a huge Bruce fan...(see my avatar?) I remember the LIve 1975-1985 release well. I was in School in Connecticut and this album was like the Holy Grail. An official bootleg of Bruce Live!

It's amazing to think how pumped up fans were then to get a Live version of their favorites, or hope that a version of a song was on the album that you happened to be at the show. As compared to today where through the internet, YouTube and downloading sources, you can now get any artists' live and sometimes obscure performances at a drop of the hat. How times have surely changed.

It was a massive release. Here in the U.K., the day it came out with people flocking to buy it was covered on the national news.
