I saw this thread and was hoping it was regarding the VH tune! Great song that sledom gets mention...love the vocal/guitar interplay between Roth and Eddie in the intro...almost Zeppelin-esque. And as always Eddie's guitar tone, attack and technique is to die for.
I thought this thread was about the O/P's roommates. As far as the VH song goes: this is a NAAAAAASTY song. So heavy--so dirty--so great to rock out to..
show some respect for other peoples time and come up with a thread title that accurately describes what you want to discuss instead of having to click on it to see what its about.
LOOOOVVVEEEEE this song. The intro alone smokes. Eddie just rips it up. To bad it wasn't longer. That's the one thing I always loved about Van Halen, the little intros and instrumentals they always did.
I thought this was going to be one of those "my roommates don't understand my love for Pet Sounds or David Cassidy". Carry on.
I have all the core Van Halen albums on vinyl up through 1984 EXCEPT Women And Children First! For some reason, this one eludes me. I just saw a copy last night in a used record shop for $4.99 but it just wasn't in good enough shape, although it did have the poster. Anyway, yeah, Fools is real good.
Women and Children First always seems to get overlooked whenever anyone talks about Roth-era VH. Fools is an excellent reason why it should not. Kudos to the OP for pointing this out.
