Ordered, now what exactly did I order?

 

Good question.I notice that it is 4 discs labelled Volumes 2,3 and 4 as well as a DVD.Guessing the original album is Volume 1 and so not included.Maybe more extensive selections but not full shows from the concerts the album was drawn from?
With only 6 weeks until release we should find out soon.

The original Too Late is so good, I have the original vinyl in tri-panel gatefold, and the 2008 issue of the cd. This period for Van is just dynamite.

 

You really cannot go wrong with It's Too Late to Stop Now. Nick Hornby also writes glowingly of the version of Caravan on it. Funnily enough, I prefer Caravan on Too Late as opposed to the studio version, and the Last Waltz version.

 

Great. Looks like we'll finally get the Rainbow concert on DVD. The bootleg versions are good but incomplete.

This looks ace. One of the greatest live albums ever and now there's more. I hope the DVD is the full Caledonia Soul Revue live concert from The Rainbow London, that was shown on the OGWT here a couple of times. It's amazing.

 

The Caledonia Soul Revue brought out the best in Van that evening at The Rainbow andd when the show was broadcast by the BBC, a generation fell in love with a cellist.

And doubt this news will have me digging out the vinyl for a listen later. No bad thing.
