I have the Japanese remasters from 2013 and am looking forward to these as we might actually get these without unusual EQ choices. Curious that they have not decided to release these together along with a. Lu-Ray but perhaps the Moondance boxed set didn't do that well and the 2 CD set did.

    A) They lost me at "expanded". That's like adding in another tree behind the Mona Lisa.

    B) Wasn't AW successfully remastered for all time and all nations a few years back? "No matter how well you think you know Astral Weeks, this one re-writes the book" (Or some similar quotation rings a bell.)

Not as far as I know. Post His Band were done by Van, Warners did Moon dance. These two so far eluded it.

Do these really need another remaster? The recent HDTracks releases were pretty well received.

They *HAD* me at "expanded"....I always wondered what the tracks sounded like before the fades, which sound like nothing more than "We're coming close to the time allotted on this side of the LP...fade it here!"

The Warner vinyl re-issues from a few years back blew me away - AW especially - I can't see myself going back to CD for these - the original Warner CDs are fine for the car, the AAA vinyl editions (Kevin Gray?) of both of those are my go-to versions now - I'm done!

Well, I've never owned either of these two on CD--I only had the cassettes in the '80's---so I'm in. I thought they did a good job with Moondance , so I'm expecting these to sound great as well.

No worries. Search has been a bit wonky of late. I had the same experience.
