The "Skip" is on both the mono & stereo versions....

It's on my vinyl copy, I don't think it's a skip, I think it's Nico not managing to double-track her vocals correctly.

In fairness to Nico, I don't think it was her job to double track herself.

I bought a pre-order of the new Radiohead blue vinyl release on Ebay for daft money a few weeks ago. Imagine how thrilled I am now that they've mass produced it instead of sticking to the original '3000 only' and it can be picked up for 'face value'! Sure, it's good that more genuine fans can now buy a blue copy but I could have done with knowing that the edition was going to be massive before I committed!!

 

Universal have been quite smart/cynical with these colour vinyl releases. They have done the Style Council stuff and most have sold out prior to release. Likewise the New York Dolls. The Velvets went very quickly. Because I could not buy them all I didn't bother with the Style Council but I really cannot imagine Universal are bothered. Maybe they will do them all again. Blue for the next Velvet Underground vinyl? My friend who has a record stall at various fairs calls all these new vinyl releases and the RSD stuff fake collectables.

 

I suspect the only double tracking Nico ever did was during journeys to her dealer.

 

How does one differentiate a sealed ltd. ed. pink version from the regular black vinyl? Is there a hype sticker? Alternative bar code?

 

I asked Cale to sign my yellow copy when he played the VU show in Liverpool, he wrote "Dollars all over it" too
