Here in Europe, there are a few TV ads with LPs and turntables featured in them. BMW has one, for instance.
There's a TV ad for a Spanish beer (Barrica) that begins with an overhead shot of an LP on a nice turntable.
Many years ago, one of the long-distance telephone competitors to AT&T (Sprint? MCI?) used a new recording of the Orlons' hit "Don't Hang Up" in a TV ad. It ended with a visual of a record skipping on the line "Do it now...do it now...do it now..."
The one I remember featured Milli Vanilli doing an opera performance when all of a sudden, the LP playing the track they were lip synching to starts skipping. Basically making fun of the fiasco they went through.
I have a hard time with Pharmaceutical commercials in general and they are very prolific over here. The idea of me going to a Dr.'s office and second guessing his prescription based on a 30 second commercial is nonsense. "Hey Dr. you know I'm really into records and last night a saw a Xljanfvafill commercial that had a turntable in it, do you think you should be writing me a scrip for that?"
current drug and political ads you need a needle for the record but you don't want one for your meds same old record for a canidate
