I'm researching rekkids with stereo information in the low end. My recollection is that this just didn't happen, but I seem to remember past posts from SHF members that claim that there are some recordings with different information between the two channels at the bottom end of the spectrum. A forum search didn't immediately get the information I was seeking, hence this thread. If anyone can recommend an LP with stereo information, below, say, 120Hz (perhaps even 150Hz), I'd appreciate learning of the title. I will then attempt to seek out such recordings, although I doubt the library lends black discs too much these days.

    Tanks-a-lot!

He must be younger than those of us who grew up with LPs and albums.

There aren't many as most bass below a certain threshold is mono. Stereo bass can cause all kinds of problems with the lathe. And they're called RECORDS, not "vinyls."

Won't happen in real life. No mastering engineer wants to risk burning out a very expensive cutting head's coils or making untrackable records.

With a TT like this, you can call your records as you like. You are the master !

Don't know about the vinyl version, BUT --- a song which *might* fit the poster's description is the 1965 Rascals cover of: I AIN'T GONNA EAT OUT MY HEART ANYMORE. An old thread here suggested it was fake stereo...IT'S NOT. The bass keys from a Hammond B3 and an isolated kick drum mic are in the LEFT CHANNEL while the entire drum kit is overdubbed in the RIGHT CHANNEL (and: you get really overloaded mastering beside-it-all from the legendary TOM DOWD:yikes:!).

I have some E. Power Biggs recodings on vinyl LP and while the bass is well represented is is certainly mono.

Still won't overcome the laws of vinyl physics. Records can't be cut without respect for the physics of vinyl mastering and playback.

I entered both of those words into Google and found he's the bassist for Grand Funk Railroad. Are you suggesting I may be able to find stereo low frequencies on any GFR album? I think my dad has a couple of their albums that he got way back when. I'll see if I can check them out sometime. Thanks!

Thanks for the complement of thinking I'm young, most people view me as some old fart who's in the way and yelling at kids to stay off my lawn. I'll let my granddaughter know that some people think I'm young-ish.

I was around when vinyls were the only game in town and those cassette thingies were only used by doctors for dictation.

So far, I've confirmed what I previously believed, probably no stereo bass on rekkids. But I will try to follow up with the couple suggestions here.
