Wait… the new Predator Trailor has been seen HOW MANY TIMES?

I mean The Predator is not a movie everybody is waiting to see, right?


So here's the thing, last night I noticed the trailor for Predator 2018 was released on Youtube; released that day, yesterday. It had only been out a few hours and I figured I was the only one who really cared about it. But I was blown away when I noticed the number of people that had already watched it.

What?

330,000 people had watched that video trailor THAT DAY, before I watched it!


The Predator 2018?


So I looked back again today to see if the number had changed. The one I watched last night has now been seen over 475,000 times.


There are several dozen videos posted of the same trailor by different people. This includes German, Dutch, Italian, Spanish and Russian(?) versions. And then there are the reaction videos.


Now I am ONLY talking about videos released YESTERDAY, May 10th.

So we are talking the Trailor itself and the reaction videos to that Trailor.


If you go thru just the first 4 pages of Youtube (see link at the bottom) and add up the total number of times the Predator 2018 video has been watched since yesterday, this is what you will get:

I hate when they name movies that way. This new one is supposed to take place chronologically between 'Predator 2' and 'Predators' though, so just calling it 'Predator 4' probably would have confused people as well.

Still though, why not something like 'Predator: The New Breed,' or 'Predator: Annihilation,' or something along those lines. It gets confusing when there is one movie in the franchise with a singular title and then another with "The" in front of that singular title.

 

Don't people have better things to do?!?

I totally get where you are coming from, but on occasion I do enjoy them....as rarely do they remake a masterpiece. But like a wise guy said; we don't have to watch them...: ) and I don't!

 

Thought that one with Adrian Brody was pretty good....

The 1939 Wizard of Oz was a remake. That ship sailed decades ago.

 

And that's exactly why I don't support the movie business any longer.

At least the "older remakes" had a story line. I can bet this latest incarnation barely has audible/intelligent dialog.

 

The fascinating dialogue about the nature of contemporary Hollywood remakes you're having is inapplicable to this thread as this movie is a sequel, not a remake. It takes place chronologically after the events of 'Predator 2.'

 

YOU of all people need a remake!

 

I am just hoping that kid is not flying that ship from his house. That would be just too dumb.

 

When some ones new favorite movie preview appears, they should post how many times the trailer has been seen the first day.
That way we can see if these Pred numbers are low high or normal.
